East Gaston Hires New Wrestling Coach

         MOUNT HOLLY—East Gaston High School has named Michael Gregory as its new head wrestling coach, according to a report in the Gaston Gazette.

         Gregory is a former University of Pittsburgh wrestler who has just graduated from Pitt.  The 24-year-old was a heavyweight wrestler in college who also was a junior national freestyle all-American and U.S. Open Greco All-American. He also twice won state championships while a student-athlete in Massachusetts at Greater Lowell Tech in Dracut, Mass.

         Gregory will take over for Shawn Petties, who coached the perennially strong wrestling program last season.
