RALEIGH—Deran Coe has been named the athletic director for the Wake County schools.
Coe, 36 years old, has been the athletic director and head men’s and women’s soccer coach at Wake Forest-Rolesville since 2010. Prior to that, he had served as athletic director and both men’s and women’s soccer coach at Franklinton.
Coe replaces Bobby Guthrie, who retired on March 1.
The new Wake County athletic director has really been around high school athletics most of his life, as his father was a long time Pennsylvania coach in several sports.
