            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Northside High School of Beaufort County completed a sweep of visiting Charles D. Owen and won its first ever North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship in any sport. Northside won the baseball title with victories of 10-0 and 6-2 to sweep the best of three series.
