May 29, 1999

            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, High Point Central defeated Eastern Alamance 4-0 to win the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state 1-A/2-A women's soccer championship at Method Road Stadium at N.C. State. Lee Cup scored two goals for the Bison and was the championship MVP. High Point Central did not give up a goal in its final 21 matches.

            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Greenville Rose’s Ryan Gordon went four for four with two massive home runs, a double and four RBIs in leading the Rampants over South Mecklenburg 11-3 and a sweep of the best of three series. He earned MVP for the Rampants who won their second 4-A baseball titles in three years.
