            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Daniel Stewart of Charlotte Catholic threw only 60 pitches in an official seven-inning high school baseball game against West Mecklenburg. A total of 48 of those pitches were strikes in the 4-0 win.

            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, North Buncombe’s Kristy Ray’s streak of consecutive made free throws came to an end. During a seven game stretch, Ray sank an impressive 40 consecutive free throws, which was tops in NCHSAA history and ranked in the top-10 all-time nationally.
