On this day in history in the NCHSAA, J.T. Poston of Hickory fires a nine-under par 63, the lowest single round ever recorded in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state men’s golf championship. Poston had the sizzling round in the first day of play in the 3-A championship at Fox Fire Golf and Country Club.
