Celebrating 100 Years: This Day In NCHSAA History

March 5, 1991

On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Harvey Reid of Wilson’s Fike High School died after collapsing during a tournament game. He was one of the winningest basketball coaches in the nation and is still North Carolina’s all-time leader in that category, compiling an incredible 816-208 record in 42 seasons as a head coach.
