WINSTON-SALEM—Chad Booth has assumed the duties as athletic director at Atkins High School in Winston-Salem, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

Booth takes over for Linwood Jerald, who resigned to take the position as athletic director at High Point Andrews.

Booth, 33, had served as assistant athletic director under Jerald for more than two years.

The new athletic director is a native of Stokes County. He graduated from South Stokes in 1998 and then attended Milligan College in Tennessee, graduating from there in 2002. He has taught at the middle school level as well as West Stokes and Atkins.

Booth has served as the technology facilitator at Atkins.
