Bishop Mcguinness Volleyball Does Community Service

KERNERSVILLE —Bishop McGuinness High School volleyball players are incorporating community service into their home games this season, according to the Greensboro News and Record.

During August home games, non-perishable food items were collected to benefit the Catholic Social Services Food Pantry in Winston Salem. Recently, the junior varsity and varsity teams collected items for the Guilford County Animal Shelter. For other games, a donation box was set up at the admissions table to again collect non-perishable food items.

On October 6, the Villains will support the long-standing “Dig Pink” tradition that honors cancer survivors and supports cancer victims. The volleyball teams will wear pink jerseys and dedicate their games against North Stokes to cancer survivors and victims. Proceeds from ticket sales and select concession items will be donated to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte cancer support program.
