Alexander Central softball enters NCHSAA Record Book in several categories

Alexander Central's softball team wrapped up their year in the third round of the state playoffs with a loss to Richmond County 8-6. However, the season was certainly notable for many things other than advancing to the third round.

This year's Cougars were a sparkling .434 at the plate as a team, with 371 hits in 855 at bats, that was good enough for fourth all-time and cements the school in the top four with the 2014 team in first place all-time and the 2015 Cougars squad at third all-time. They also had 371 hits as a team on the season, placing them fourth all-time in history. The team's incredible 71 doubles on the year placed them sixth all-time in the category.
