Congratulations to the OrthoCarolina Performance of the Month Winners for the first month of competition in the 2026-2027 School Year. The August 2026 winners are Reese Hislop from Swansboro and Edwin Ramirez from West Lincoln.
Reese Hislop, a junior hitter, helped lead the Pirates to a 7-0 record in the month of August. She racked up 103 Kills while hitting .395% in 195 Attempts. She has also tallied 18 Aces, 25 Total Blocks, 7 Assists, and 62 Digs.
The Pirates are still undefeated and currently rank seventh in the 6A Volleyball RPI rankings. They are set to host White Oak tonight.
Edwin Ramirez, a senior forward for the Rebels, scored 18 goals in the month of August, and two more last night, to give him the third most goals in the country according to MaxPreps. The Rebels went 6-1 in August and Ramirez was a major reason why. In addition to his goal scoring output, he also assisted on four goals.
In the 4-2 win against Cherryville on August 26, Ramirez scored two goals and assisted on two others. The Rebels return to the pitch on Tuesday, the eighth, with a match at Shelby.
