On this day in history in the NCHSAA, J.T. Poston of Hickory recorded the lowest 36-hole total ever in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state men’s golf championship. Poston had an opening day 63 and then had a 68 on the final day for a 13-under par total of 131 in the 3-A championship at Fox Fire Golf and Country Club.
