Shannon joined the NCHSAA staff in August 2026 as the Administrative Assistant for Sports and Championships following a 31-year career in North Carolina public education.

A graduate of Meredith College, Shannon served as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher in Richmond County at Rockingham Junior High School, Orange County Schools at Orange Middle School and Orange High School, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools at Mount Tabor High School, and Elkin City Schools at Elkin High School. After earning a master’s degree in School Administration from North Carolina State University, Shannon continued her service in public education as Director of Career and Technical Education, Cultural Arts, and Social Studies for Orange County Schools.

Shannon and her husband, Richie, reside in Alamance County.
