The 2025 NCHSAA Baseball State Championship Series was held at two outstanding venues in North Carolina: Ting Stadium in Holly Springs and Burlington Athletic Stadium in Burlington.
1A Championship Series

Game 1 – Perquimans 4, Uwharrie Charter 1 | Game 1 – Box Score
The Perquimans Pirates took game one of the NCHSAA 1A Baseball Championship Series 4-1 against the Uwharrie Charter Eagles on Friday night at Ting Park in Holly Springs.
The loss is the first for Uwharrie Charter in NCHSAA Championship Series as they were 6-0 in their previous three trips to the Championship Series.
The Pirates struck first in the bottom of the first and, after Jaxon Mabe tied the score with an RBI for Uwharrie Charter in the top of the second, Perquimans scored three more in the bottom of the second. In the second, Maddux Thach bunted to score Coley Drew, and in the next at-bat, Jacob Askew tripled home Nate Williamson and Thach.
Neither team scored the rest of the way. Will Rucker earned the win for the Pirates for throwing six innings and allowing one run on five hits. Thach earned the save after striking out two in the top of the seventh.

The Association has partnered with the North Carolina Farm Bureau to award a pair of Sportsmanship Awards at each championship event, recognizing players who have demonstrated the ideals of outstanding character and sportsmanship throughout the 2024-25 season. The winners of the 1A Baseball Sportsmanship Awards were Sean Saunders from Perquimans and Austin Luck from Uwharrie Charter.
Game 2 – Uwharrie Charter 6, Perquimans 4 | Game 2 – Box Score
The Uwharrie Charter Eagles scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and made them stand up as they forced a Game 3 with a 6-4 win in Game 2 of the NCHSAA 1A Baseball Championship Series at Ting Park in Holly Springs.
The Eagles loaded the bases in the first and Alex Carver, Landon Zephir and Ty McAuley all had RBI base hits to take the early 6-0 lead. The Pirates pulled two back in the fourth and two more in the fifth thanks to a triple from Maddox Thach but Perquimans couldn’t complete the rally.
Logun Wilkins earned the win for the Eagles as he went the distance and allowed four runs on eight hits while striking out six batters.
Game 3 – Uwharrie Charter 6, Perquimans 0 | Game 3 – Box Score
The Uwharrie Charter Eagles overcame losing the first game of the NCHSAA 1A Baseball Championship Series and won their third consecutive Championship by taking Game 3 6-0 over Perquimans on Saturday night at Ting Park.
In the decisive game, Uwharrie took the lead in the third inning as Grant Dalton had an RBI fielder’s choice and Landon Zephir added an RBI sac fly in the next at-bat. In the fourth. Dalton hit a two-run shot, also scoring Austin Luck, to double the lead.
The Eagles tacked on two more runs in the top of the seventh inning as Jaxon Mabe tripled home Alex Carver and scored in the next at-bat when Daniel Brandon singled to centerfield.
For Perquimans, Coley Drew went 2-for-3 at the plate, leading the Pirates. Four other Pirates each had one hit.
Jake Hunter went the distance for the Eagles in Game 3, a complete-game shutout performance. He allowed six hits and just one walk while striking out five batters. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the Championship Series.
The Eagles have now won four NCHSAA Championships (2019, 2023, 2024, 2025) and have lost only one game in those four series. They finished the 2025 season 20-12. Perquimans finished the year 26-8.
2A Championships Series

Game 1 – East Rutherford 4, South Lenoir 3 | Game 1- Box Score
East Rutherford took Game 1 of the 2025 NCHSAA 2A Baseball Championship Series with a 4-3 win on Friday afternoon at Burlington Athletic Stadium.
Malachi Dato went the distance on the mound for the Cavaliers and allowed three runs, two earned on seven hits while striking out eight Blue Devils. Preston Henson (1-for-3), Jacob Lee (1-for-3) and Eli Roof all pitched in with RBIs. Dato also went 2-for-3 at the plate.
For South Lenoir, Matthew Rhodes worked six innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on seven hits. Braden Barnett went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Game two is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Game 2 – East Rutherford 11, South Lenoir 0 | Game 2 – Box Score
The East Rutherford Cavaliers rolled to an 11-0 win in game two of the NCHSAA 2A Baseball Championship Series to sweep South Lenoir and claim their seventh NCHSAA Baseball Title.
This year marked the 10th appearance in the final for the Cavaliers, but their first since they won the championship in 2016.
On Saturday at Burlington Athletic Stadium, East Rutherford plated five runs in the second inning and never looked back. Matthew Pinkerton went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored to lead the team at the plate. Jacob Lee, Elliott Tisdale, JD Toney and Brandon Pinkerton all added two hits as well as the Cavaliers racked up 17 hits in the game.
Lee also pitched a complete game on the mound and gave up just four hits, no walks and struck out three batters.
Malachi Dato went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Game 2 after going 2-for-3 in Game 1 and throwing a complete game with eight Ks. He was named the Most Valuable Player for the Championship.
The Cavaliers finished the year 30-1, losing only in Game 1 of the Regional Final. South Lenoir, which was making its Championship Series debut this year, finished the season 23-6.
3A Championship Series

Game 1 – J.H. Rose 5, North Lincoln 4 | Game 1 – Box Score
The J.H. Rose Rampants walked off on the North Lincoln Knights 5-4 to win the first game of the 2025 NCHSAA 3A Baseball Championship Series on Friday afternoon at Ting Stadium in Holly Springs.
North Lincoln plated a pair of unearned runs in the top of the seventh thanks to a Cason McGinnis single to right field. That gave the Knights a 4-1 lead going into the home half of the seventh. The Rampants responded with four runs, including two on a passed ball/dropped third strike that allowed both Demarcus McCray and Josh Roberson to score the game-winning runs.
Game two is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Game 2 – North Lincoln 2, J.H. Rose 0 | Game 2 – Box Score
The North Lincoln Knights forced a decisive Game 3 with a 2-0 win against J.H. Rose in Game 2 of the NCHSAA 3A Championship Series on Saturday afternoon at Ting Park in Holly Springs.
Kellen Karr pitched a complete game shutout for the Knights and allowed just five hits and two walks while issuing nine strikeouts.
At the plate, catcher Elliott Dellinger went 3-for-3 with an RBI and third baseman Tucker Sigmon went 1-for-3 with an RBI to give Karr all the help he needed.
For the Rampants, Parker Simo pitched well in the loss as he went six innings and allowed the two runs on six hits while striking out six batters.
Game 3 – North Lincoln 1, J.H. Rose 0 – Box Score
After dropping Game 1, the North Lincoln Knights shut out J.H. Rose for two straight games to win the NCHSAA 3A Baseball Championship Series two games to one. In Game 3 on Saturday night at Ting Park in Holly Springs, the Knights slid past the Rampants 1-0.
The decisive game was a pitcher’s duel as the two teams combined for just seven hits. North Lincoln’s Cason McGinnis threw a complete-game, two-hitter and issued just one walk. He also struck out two batters in the winning effort.
Rose’s Owen Simmons also threw a complete game and allowed just one earned run on five hits while striking out five batters.
The game was scoreless until the top of the seventh inning. Tucker Sigmon hit a one-out single and then moved to third in the next at-bat when Chad Matthews singled to left. Beckett Rinkus laid down a bunt to squeeze Sigmon across the plate for what would be the game-winning run.
In the home half of the inning, McGinnis sat the first two down in order before issuing a walk. With the tying run aboard, McGinnis induced a pop-up to second to end the game and the series.
McGinnis was named the Most Valuable Player for the Championship Series.
North Lincoln has now won two NCHSAA Baseball Championships, having previously swept Randleman in the 2019 2A Championship. The Knights finished the 2025 season with a record of 23-9. J.H. Rose made their ninth appearance in the finals this year and finished as runner-up for just the third time. The Rampants finished 2025 at 28-6.
4A Championship Series

Game 1 – T.C. Roberson 12, Laney 0 (6 Innings) | Game 1 – Box Score
The T.C. Roberson Rams rolled to a 12-0 win in the first game of the NCHSAA 4A Championship Series against Laney at Burlington Athletic Stadium on Friday night.
T.C. Roberson, the two-time defending champions, scored four runs in three different innings to induce the 10-run rule after the sixth frame.
Micah Simpson tossed a complete-game, three-hitter and struck out seven Buccaneers along the way. He also went 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs. Parker Filipek and Caden Davidson each added a pair of hits and three and two RBIs, respectively.
Leadoff hitter Zeb Swangim and centerfielder Lorenzo Lyles also added a pair of hits. Swangim scored three times, and Lyles scored twice.
Game two is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The winners of the 4A Baseball Sportsmanship Awards were Dylan Odom from T.C. Roberson and Stephen Bollenbacher from Laney.
Game 2 – T.C. Roberson 8, Laney 7 | Game 2 – Box Score
The T.C. Roberson Rams completed their three-peat of NCHSAA 4A Baseball Championships as they edged Laney 8-7 in Game 2 on Saturday afternoon at Burlington Athletic Stadium.
Laney plated four runs in the top of the first inning, but the Rams slowly worked their way back into the game. In the bottom of the third, Parker Filipek scored on a wild pitch to tie things back up at 4-4.
In the fifth, Filipek scored again, this time on a line drive from Lorenzo Lyles to take the lead, but Laney leveled the score again in the sixth with an RBI single from Carston Wedemeyer.
In the bottom of the sixth, JT Smith hit a lead-off double and Caden Davidson hit a two-run homer in the next at-bat to take the lead. Lyles drew a bases-loaded walk later in the inning to provide a crucial insurance run.
Laney rallied in the top of the seventh, and Owen Gore singled home a pair of runs, but Jackson Noon flew out in the next at-bat to end the game and strand the potential winning run on base.
Davidson and Micah Simpson were named Co-Most Valuable Players for the Championship.
The Rams made their ninth appearance in the State Championship this year and now have seven NCHSAA titles. T.C. Roberson finished the season 27-6. The Buccaneers made their second appearance, having won in 2010. Laney ended 2025 at 25-7.
