2023-24 Winter Championships Dates and Locations

CHAPEL HILL – The North Carolina High School Athletic Association is excited to stage the winter sports championships in February and March 2024.

The NCHSAA announced earlier in January that the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships and the Regional Championships will be held at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem. The Basketball Championships are the final winter sports titles given out as the champions will be crowned on March 15 and 16.

The first championship trophies of the winter will be awarded at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex Fieldhouse on February 3 as the Dual Team Wrestling Playoffs will conclude there. The Dual Team Championships have been hosted at the Coliseum Complex since 2018; before that, the East and West Regional Champions alternated hosting duties year-to-year.

This year, the 2A and 4A matches will take place at noon, with the 1A and 3A matches scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. Brackets will be announced for the Dual Team Playoffs on January 25.

The Individual Wrestling Championships will be held February 15-17 in the Greensboro Coliseum, including the first NCHSAA Women’s Wrestling State Championships. Since 2019, the NC Wrestling Coaches sponsored a Women’s Wrestling Invitational, but 2024 will mark the first time that women’s wrestling will culminate in NCHSAA-sanctioned Championships.

The Swimming and Diving Championships are slated for February 7-10, and the Indoor Track Championship is the same weekend, February 9-10.

The Diving Championships will be held at the Pullen Aquatic Center in Raleigh, with the 3A Championship on Wednesday the 7th, the 1A/2A on Thursday, and the 4A on Friday. The Swimming Championships will be held at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary, beginning with the 3A on Thursday the 8th, the 1A/2A on Friday, and the 4A on Saturday.

The Indoor Track Championships will return to the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, where they have been since the 2013 championships. The 4A Championships will be on Friday, February 9, while the 1A/2A will be on Saturday morning and the 3A on Saturday afternoon.

Media planning to cover these championship events will be asked to register at www.nchsaa.org/media-credentials prior to the event, following the same process for the Fall Championships.

All NCHSAA championship events will be available via live stream through the NFHS Network.
