Week 10 POTW Winners

Each week two athletes in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association are selected for the Performance of the Week Award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. These athletes are nominated by coaches, media, and school administrators for their outstanding performance.

The OrthroCarolina Performers of the Week for week ten of NCHSAA competition go to Kiarrah Horne from Millbrook High School and Cooper King from Hendersonville High School.  

Horne a Junior on the Wildcats Volleyball team won the 4A State Volleyball Regional and Championship behind her dominating performances. Her Millbrook Wildcats defeated Cardinal Gibbons in an epic 5 set match on Tuesday night before defeating Sun Valley 3 sets to 0 in the Championship Match.  During the match Kiarrah break the state championship kill record by recording 27 kills in just 3 sets.  She was awarded the 4A State Championships Volleyball MVP. 

Senior Cooper King from Hendersonville High School had a dominating week on the soccer field in the NCHSAA Playoffs.  His team defeated Northwest Randolph 7-0 in round 1 and McMichael 4-0 in the 2md round of the playoffs.  During these games King scored 6 goals including 4 in the first-round game.  He had a natural hat trick scoring the first 3 goals of the game against Northwest Randolph. Hendersonville takes on Newton Conover in round 3 Monday night.  

Congratulations to Kiarrah Horne from Millbrook High School and Cooper King from Hendersonville High School on an outstanding performance last week!!
