There is a new distribution process for Senior Tar Heel cards. See the instructions below to obtain a card.

Senior Tar Heel Athletic Card (STHAC): Free discount card for individuals age 60+ that supports high school athletics.

• Regular Season: Acceptance is encouraged but optional and determined by each school. Call ahead to confirm acceptance for regular-season events.
• Playoffs: Accepted at all playoff events.

To obtain a free card, locate your county below.  Depending on your county of residence, cards are available through either

• Your local Area Agency on Aging (AAA),
• Senior Center, or
• both.

Lifetime Athletic Pass Criteria

Individuals must have at least 25 years of combined service as

• a superintendent or city county athletic director at an NCHSAA LEA/PSU or
• a principal, assistant principal, coach, or athletic director at an NCHSAA member school.

NOTE: At least one-half of the years of service must have been as an administrator.
