The OrthoCarolina Performance of the Month Awards for February 2026 in NCHSAA competition are Bentley Sly, Lorenzo Alston, Cael Dunn and Lilah Penigar.
The Male Performance of the Month award goes to a trio of wrestlers who each won their fourth NCHSAA wrestling championship at the Greensboro Coliseum in February.
Lorenzo Alston from Uwharrie Charter, won the 4A 175-pound championship this year and plans to wrestle at NC State next year. Bentley Sly from Stuart Cramer, won the 4A 150-pound championship this year and plans to wrestle at Appalachian State next year. Cael Dunn from South Davidson, won the 4A 215-point championship this year and plans to wrestle at Campbell next year.
The Female Performance of the Month award goes to Lilah Penigar from South Granville The junior guard averaged 38 points and 13 rebounds per game in the month of February. She scored more than 40 four times, including dropping 51 against Carrboro on the 12th. Lilah was selected as the player of the year for the Big Seven Conference.
