OrthoCarolina Performance of the Month – August 2025

CHAPEL HILL — The OrthoCarolina Performance of the Month for August winners are Jaquell Davis from West Brunswick High School and Cali Townsend from Watauga High School.

Davis, a senior on the West Brunswick Football Team, opened the season with standout performances, leading the Trojans to back-to-back wins over South Brunswick in week one and Whiteville in week two. In the season opener, he tallied 18 carries for 150 yards and two touchdowns, along with four tackles, including one for loss. Davis followed it up in week two with another dominant effort, rushing 15 times for 184 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 11 tackles on defense.

Townsend, a sophomore on the Watauga Cross Country Team, is shattering records and closing in on historic marks. She captured first place at the Eye Opener Invitational 5k in Spartanburg, South Carolina, running the third fastest time ever recorded on the course (17:45). She was named the NC MileSplit’s Performer of the Week for that performance and she has opened her 2025 season by dropping 30 seconds off her personal best. In August, she ranked as the 8th fastest sophomore in the nation, according to MilesSplit.

Congratulations to Jaquell Davis of West Brunswick High School and Cali Townsend of Watauga High School on outstanding athletic performance in August!
