Snow Impacts High School Athletics

The snow storm that hit North Carolina on Tuesday obviously will have a major impact on high school athletic events in the next couple of days.
School systems all over the state are closed and the North Carolina Highway Patrol answered hundreds of calls for automobile accidents across the stateon Tuesday.  Weather was a contributing factor for two traffic fatalities in Surry County.
Governor Pat McCrory declared a state of emergency in North Carolina.  Crews have worked around the clock to get primary roads, including interstates, open but many secondary roads are still ice and snow-covered.
