Setzer Is New Lumberton Football Coach

LUMBERTON—Mike Setzer has been named the new head football coach at Lumberton High School, according to various media reports including The Robesonian.

Setzer will take over for Ron Cook, who was serving as the interim head coach after Joe Salas resigned.

Setzer has previously been a head coach at St. Paul’s and West Caldwell and also had served on the Lumberton staff as an assistant. He was the 2007 Robeson County Coach of the Year while serving as St. Paul’s. He did not coach last year as he worked on his master’s degree.

Lumberton posted a 1-10 record a year ago.
