MOORESVILLE—Brett Hayford has been named as the new head football coach at Pine Lake Preparatory, according to a report in the Mooresville Tribune.

Hayford has been a long-time Davidson College assistant football coach, ever since he had played football and baseball at Davidson and graduated from there in 1993. Among Hayford’s duties at Davidson were eight seasons as associate head coach and a couple of games in 2012 where he served as interim head coach.

Hayford replaces Jason Moore, who will continue to serve as the program’s offensive coordinator.  The new head coach has been hired to teach in the school’s middle school program.
