Misenheimer Steps Down At East Rowan

SALISBURY—Danny Misenheimer has resigned as head football coach at East Rowan High School, according to a report in the Salisbury Post.

Misenheimer, age 31, was the seventh head coach at the school in football since 2002. He is a 2000 East Rowan graduate who played in the Shrine Bowl and then went on to compete in track and wrestling at Appalachian State.

East posted a 4-8 record last year and lost in the first round of the NCHSAA playoffs. The team went 8-5 in his first year at the East helm.

Misenheimer is transferring to Bostian Elementary, where he’ll be a custodian as he was at East. Misenheimer said to the Post that he is stepping down so he can spend more time with his family, but does not rule out returning to coaching one day.
