FAYETTEVILLE— An ESPN announcer made a return trip last week to his high school alma mater.
Sam Gore, who works a variety of sports for the cable sports network, visited Terry Sanford High School to speak with students as part of the school’s Distinguished Speakers Series, according to the Fayetteville Observer.
Gore was a four-time all-conference tennis player at Terry Sanford, graduating in 1985. He has broadcast such sports as bowling, volleyball, women’s soccer, and professional bull riding, but his focus has been professional tennis, including the Grand Slam events such as Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.
