MORGANTON—Veteran head football coach Tom Eanes will be the new head coach at Patton High School, according to a report in the Hickory Daily Record.

     Eanes is currently the head coach at Ashley in Wilmington, where he has been since 2011. His parents live in western North Carolina and his father Bill is a former head football coach at Newton-Conover.

     Eanes will replace Joe Glass, who became the head coach at Jay Robinson in Cabarrus County.

     The new Patton coach has had a number of stops as a head coach during his career, highlighted by his guiding Pender to a state championship game berth during his seven seasons there.  He has also served as head coach at East Lincoln, Orange, Albemarle, East Surry, and East Rowan.
