Q: Is there any special requirement involving the training or certification of coaches who teach the discipline of pole vault in track and field?

A: The answer is yes.  The North Carolina High School Athletic Association Board of Directors recently passed a requirement that each head pole vault coach must take and pass the NFHS Coaching Pole Vault Course, found on the NFHSLearn.com website, to be able to coach in the 2015-16 school year.
