SOUTHEAST RALEIGH SWEEPS NCHSAA 4-A INDOOR TRACK



CHAPEL HILL—Southeast Raleigh swept both team championships in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state 4-A indoor track and field

championships on Saturday night at the Eddie Smith Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of North Carolina.

ENLOE, PROVIDENCE CONTINUE DOMINANCE IN 4-A



RALEIGH – Two schools kept long winning strings intact, but it wasn’t easy at the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state 4-A swimming and diving championships at the Willis Casey Aquatic Center on the N.C. State campus on Saturday.



Raleigh Enloe won its ninth consecutive men’s team championship and Charlotte Providence rallied to capture its ninth women’s crown in the last 10 years and fifth in succession.

CARY ROLLS PAST WEST FORSYTH

Cary dominated from the opening bout and scored a convincing 53-9 victory over West Forsyth in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state 4-A dual team wrestling championship on Saturday afternoon at Cary High School.



The match started at the 130-pound weight class and the Imps stormed out to a 35-0 lead. Cary won 12 of the 14 weight classes.

Time Warner Cable will telecast all eight North Carolina High School Athletic Association state high school basketball championship games scheduled for March 10th.



News 14 Carolina will telecast the 4-A women’s state championship game at 5PM and the 4-A men’s state championship game at 7:30pm both “live” from the Smith Center on the UNC campus. News 14 Carolina is available to basic cable subscribers in the Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham/Fayetteville and Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point television markets.

Four championships will be up for grabs on Saturday in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s 18th annual dual team wrestling championships.



The championships are held on high school campuses and this year the Eastern champions are the hosts. All of the teams advancing to the Saturday championship matches earned a pair of victories on Thursday night to gain a shot at the state title.

CHAPEL HILL -- State championships in two classifications are up for grabs this weekend in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association swimming and diving championship.



The 3-A schools will compete at the Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatic Center, while the 4-A schools will square off at the Willis Casey Aquatic Center on the N.C. State University campus in Raleigh.

CHAPEL HILL – The North Carolina High School Athletic Association state indoor track and field championships will have a new look this year.



The 21st annual edition, scheduled for the Eddie Smith Fieldhouse on the campus on the University of North Carolina on Saturday, will for the first time be a classified championship. Indoor track has always been conducted as an “open” championship, with all schools regardless of size competing for the same championship.
