Each week, two athletes in an NCHSAA competition are selected as the recipients of the Performance of the Week award, sponsored by Ortho Carolina. Whether you walk, run, or ride, Ortho Carolina will keep you healthy why you do it.
This week the NCHSAA recognizes Rocky Carter from Warren County High School. Carter, a Junior on the Men’s Basketball team led Warren County to a 77-70 win over Kipp with his 29-point performance. The junior stepped up when needed, due to injuries on the team. He added 5 rebounds and a steal in the victory.
We also recognize Leah Sandock, a Senior at Union Academy High school for her outstanding performance for the Cardinals Women’s Swim team. Sandock placed first in her individual events, the 200 Free with a time of 2:01.54 and the 100 Fly with a time of 1:00.66. The Senior Cardinal also led the 200 Free relay and the 400 relay to first place finishes. She was a huge contributor to the team’s overall win against Gray Stone Day, Mt. Pleasant, and West Stanly.
