Fall Sports Officials, Thank you!

Fall Sports Officials Appreciation Week is behind us, and it’s time to share a well-deserved spotlight on the dedicated men and women who officiate education-based athletics in North Carolina. These unsung heroes play a pivotal role in fostering the spirit of high school athletics in our state, and we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to them for their tireless efforts.

One of the most remarkable aspects of this celebration is the outpouring of support and appreciation from schools and sports communities. Schools like Marvin Ridge, Piedmont, West Brunswick and many more have shared heartwarming pictures capturing moments of camaraderie between officials and athletes.

Marvin Ridge showcased their appreciation for volleyball officials, while Piedmont extended their gratitude to officials overseeing both football and soccer. West Brunswick expressed their thanks to officials overseeing football and volleyball. These snapshots capture the essence of what Fall Sports Officials Appreciation Week is all about: recognizing the positive impact officials have on the athletes, coaches, and fans.

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association recognizes the pivotal role that officials play in maintaining the integrity of high school sports. Education-based athletics in North Carolina would not be the same without their dedication and expertise. From ensuring fair play to enforcing the rules of the game, officials uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship and competition.

Fall Sports Officials Appreciation Week was a great reminder that behind every sporting event are individuals who are committed to creating a positive educational experience for everyone involved. So, let’s take this opportunity to say “thank you” to the officials who invest their time and energy in making North Carolina’s fall sports season memorable.

Thank you, officials for making a difference in North Carolina’s high school sports communities.

Mark your calendars for Winter Sports Officials Appreciation Week (January 7-13, 2024) and Spring Sports Officials Appreciation Week (April 14-20, 2024) later this year!
