Ashley Men’s Basketball Coach Resigns

WILMINGTON—Bryn McSwain has announced his resignation as the men’s basketball coach at Ashley High School, according to various media reports, including the Wilmington Star-News.

McSwain has coached Ashley for the last five seasons and the Eagles posted a 17-9 mark this year and finished third in the Mideastern Conference, losing in the second round of the NCHSAA playoffs to Clayton.

The Ashley coach was quoted as saying he wanted to spend more time with his family and pursue a graduate degree.

Ashley will begin its search for a new coach immediately, according to athletic director Roy Turner.
