Each week, two athletes in an NCHSAA competition are selected as the recipients of the Performance of the Week award, sponsored by Ortho Carolina. Whether you walk, run, or ride, Ortho Carolina will keep you healthy why you do it.
This week the NCHSAA recognizes Mariam Abdelbarr from N.C School of Science & Math. Mariam, a Junior on the Women’s Basketball team, recorded two triple doubles in one week, while leading her team to a 3-0 streak. In their win against East Wake Academy, Mariam recorded 10 points, 10 assists, and 13 rebounds. Two days later, she finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 steals vs Raleigh Charter.
We also recognize Kyle Roy, a Freshman at Union Academy High school for his outstanding performance for the Cardinals Swim team. Roy placed first in his individual events, the 200 Free with a time of 2:08.21 and the 100 Butterfly with a score of 59.61. The Freshman Cardinal has qualified for the 1A/2A Central regional swim meet in 5 individual events and 3 relays!
