CHAPEL HILL— McKinley Uzzell from Princeton High School and Blake McClellan from East Rutherford High School have been named recipients of the NCHSAA Performance of the Week award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. Each week two athletes in North Carolina High School Athletic Association competition are selected for this award from nominations received from coaches, media, and school administrators.
Uzzell, a Senior on the P
rinceton Football team, did not miss a kick last week, making his lone field goal attempt from 30 yards while going 7 for 7 on extra point attempts. Uzzell also kicked 8 touchbacks in 8 kickoffs as Princeton beat Rosewood 52-28.
McClellan, a Freshman on the East Rutherford Football team, showed out on both sides of the ball Thursday night. McClellan finished with 143 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while adding 11 tackles and a fumble recovery on the defensive end.
