CHAPEL HILL— Madison Hall from Bear Grass Charter and Jake Patton from Ashe County High School have been named recipients of the NCHSAA Performance of the Week award. Each week two athletes in North Carolina High School Athletic Association competition are selected for this award from nominations received from coaches, media, and school administrators.
Hall, a Sophomore on the Bear Grass Softball team, went 3-3 with three home runs and 5 RBI’s in the Bears’ win against Columbia on Tuesday. Her three home runs are tied for the third-most home runs in a single game in NCHSAA history.
Patton, a Senior on the Ashe County Golf team, shot a career-low 3-under 33 at Mountain Aire Golf Club on Monday. His round was highlighted by a hole in one on the sixth hole, a 371 yard, par 4.
