NCHSAA Announces Partnership with AAA Carolinas | April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) is excited to announce a new partnership with the AAA Carolinas Foundation for Traffic Safety. The partnership will include an integrated marketing presence throughout the spring season to promote the AAA Traffic Safety “Disconnect & Drive” campaign and educate students and families about the dangers of driving while distracted.

As part of the collaboration, AAA and the NCHSAA will partner to support AAA's "Take the Pledge” School Challenge that will run from April 1 through April 30. Students from all NCHSAA member schools will be encouraged to “Take the Pledge” to drive distraction-free by visiting the Disconnect & Drive website and entering their name and school affiliation. The school with the highest percentage of students that Take the Pledge will receive a $1,000 donation. All students that Take the Pledge will also have a chance to win a prize.

Throughout the remainder of the school year, the NCHSAA will also share safety tips and videos with students and families through various communication platforms.
