CHAPEL HILL— Lyvia Trimp from Weddington High School and Mark Perez from Holmes High School have been named recipients of the NCHSAA Performance of the Week award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. Each week two athletes in North Carolina High School Athletic Association competition are selected for this award from nominations received from coaches, media, and school administrators.
Trimp, a Senior on the Weddington Volleyball team, recorded her 1,000th career kill on Monday. Trimp currently holds the school record for most career kills at Weddington.
Perez, a Sophomore on the Holmes Football team, tied an NCHSAA record Friday night going 13 for 13 on extra point attempts as Holmes beat Currituck 91-50.
Weekly recipients will be recognized on the NCHSAA Website and social media pages. The deadline for nominations is each Monday at 5 p.m through the online form that can be found here.
