Geoff Tennant (1939-2019)
A lifelong educator, champion of students and benefactor of Polk County passed away at the age of 79.
Tennant began his career at Tryon High School in 1966 as a teacher and coach. He later became Athletic Director at Tryon and Polk County High Schools. Geoff was a member of the NCHSAA Board of Directors from 1982-86. He continued his career in education as a member of the Polk County Board of Education in 1992 and was Chairman from 1996 until his death.
