STUDENTS FROM MOUNT TABOR & CLOVER GARDEN EARN PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK AWARDS

CHAPEL HILL— Lexie Roberts from Clover Garden High School and Soul Dayan from Mount Tabor High School have been named recipients of the NCHSAA Performance of the Week awards. Each week two athletes in North Carolina High School Athletic Association competition are selected for this award from nominations received from media and school administrators.

Roberts, a freshman on the women’s basketball team, helped lead Clover Garden to a 55-28 win over North Carolina Leadership Academy on Wednesday. The Freshman had 14 points to go with 9 steals, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the game.

Dayan, a senior midfielder for Mount Tabor’s men’s soccer team, racked up four goals and an assist as he pushed his team to an appearance in the 3A Western Regional Finals. Mount Tabor picked up wins over Central Cabarrus, Forestview and A.L. Brown to make the Regionals.

Weekly recipients will be recognized on the NCHSAA Website and social media pages. They will also be honored at a banquet for all recipients from this year in late April. The deadline for nominations is each Monday at 5 p.m through the online form that can be found here.
