West Brunswick Will Have New Football Coach

LELAND — Multiple media outlets have confirmed that West Brunswick High School’s Jimmy Fletcher has been let go as head football coach.

In 2009, Fletcher led the Trojans to their first winning season in nine years. But West Brunswick went a combined 9-14 in the past two seasons, and 6-6 in the Waccamaw Conference during that time. He finished his nine-year career at West with a 43-63 record.

Fletcher, who retains his teaching position at West Brunswick, said he will probably try to continue coaching. He will coach the East team in the East-West All-State game this year.
