“Dig Pink” Success In Catawba County

BANDYS, BUNKER HILL RAISE MONEY AT VOLLEYBALL EVENT

CLAREMONT— Bandys defeated Bunker Hill earlier this week in a high school volleyball match by scores of 25-13, 25-6, and 25-19, but the Observer-News-Enterprise of Newton reports there was much more involved than just the match itself.

Bunker Hill hosted its first-ever “Dig Pink” night to help raise money for cancer awareness through the Side-Out Foundation. Through the sales of T-shirts and a silent auction, the Bunker Hill community raised more than $2,000 for the foundation, which is centered around the sport of volleyball and cancer awareness.

Congratulations to both of those schools in Catawba County for their community service efforts.
