Terry Sanford Representatives Advance In 4-A Tennis

FAYETTEVILLE TERRY SANFORD REPRESENTATIVES

ADVANCE TO NCHSAA 4-A MEN’S TENNIS SEMIFINALS

CHAPEL HILL – A singles player and a doubles team from Fayetteville Terry Sanford advanced to the Saturday semifinals by winning a pair of matches each on Friday at the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state 4-A men’s tennis tournament championships at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina.

Ryan Noble swept both of his singles matches on Friday, losing only two games in four sets, and the doubles duo of Andrew Bock and Ryan Anderson also won a pair in straight sets.

Noble will face Jake Bowling of Morrisville Green Hope in one Saturday morning semifinal at nine o’clock while Chapel Hill’s Andrew Malizia will take on Landon Kinsey of Greensboro Page in the other singles semifinal. Noble was a member of the state championship doubles team with his brother Ryan in 2006.

The Terry Sanford duo of Andrew Bock and Ryan Anderson will face Brendan O’Connor and Ryan Forbes of Charlotte Ardrey Kell in doubles semifinal action, with the other match sending Apex’s Viking Edeback and Wesley Barrett against Connor Sherwood and Jon Roy of Greensboro Grimsley.

O’Connor and Forbes held on to oust Jack Parks and J.B. Weaver of Raleigh Broughton in a tough three-set quarterfinal match Friday afternoon.

The finals will take place on Saturday afternoon. Wendy’s and the Carolina Ford Dealers are presenting sponsors of the NCHSAA sports program
