CHAPEL HILL—The North Carolina High School Athletic Association announced today that two special awards are being established in the name of the late Pat Gainey, long-time coach who will be inducted into the NCHSAA Hall of Fame in April.

CARY WINS TEAM TITLE IN NCHSAA 4-A WRESTLING

WINSTON-SALEM -- Two-time defending champion Cary made it three in a row by rolling to the team title in the 2007 North Carolina High School Athletic Association state 4-A wrestling championships on Saturday night at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Winners of the Sectional Finals need to report their score on the online score reporting system, this will advance the winning school on the Sectional Brackets. Pairings for regionals will be posted on the regional brackets Monday morning.

SOUTHEAST RALEIGH SWEEPS NCHSAA 4-A INDOOR TRACK



CHAPEL HILL—Southeast Raleigh swept both team championships in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state 4-A indoor track and field

championships on Saturday night at the Eddie Smith Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of North Carolina.



In the men's competition, Southeast Raleigh took the title with 41.5 points to 35 for second-place Charlotte Providence. New Bern and West Charlotte tied for third with 33 each and Winston-Salem R.J. Reynolds was

ENLOE, PROVIDENCE CONTINUE DOMINANCE IN 4-A



RALEIGH – Two schools kept long winning strings intact, but it wasn’t easy at the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state 4-A swimming and diving championships at the Willis Casey Aquatic Center on the N.C. State campus on Saturday.



Raleigh Enloe won its ninth consecutive men’s team championship and Charlotte Providence rallied to capture its ninth women’s crown in the last 10 years and fifth in succession.
