BRAD ALFORD - ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF SPORTS
Brad joined the NCHSAA staff in August 2010. As the Assistant Director of Sports he assist in the coordination of Women’s and Combination Sports and oversees Interstate and National Federation sanctioning.
Born and raised in Durham, NC, Brad attended Southern Durham High School where he was a four-year varsity player on the soccer and golf teams.
Following his graduation in 2003, he attended Mount Olive College where he earned two bachelor degrees, a B.S. in Business Administration: Business Management and a B.S. in Recreation and Leisure Studies: Sports Management. Brad also competed for Mount Olive as a member of the Men’s Golf Team. His work earned him honors such as Dean’s List, President’s List, Academic-All Conference, and Conference Presidential Honor Roll. He was the 2005 Men’s Golf Team Coach’s Award Recipient.
Following his graduation from Mount Olive, Brad earned a Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Science: Sport Management from East Carolina University. During his time at ECU he worked in the Athletic Ticket Office where he assisted with football, basketball and baseball event sales. To complete his degree he interned with the NCHSAA where his special project include collecting, analyzing and presenting data for the NCHSAA Football Playoff "Pod System".
