GOLDSBORO-- The baseball clinic run by North Carolina High School Athletic Association Hall of Famer George Whitfield is set for its 34th annual renewal.

The clinic is scheduled for Goldsboro High School on Saturday, January 14, 2006, and features another tremendous lineup. Registration is scheduled from 7:30 to 9:15a.m, and then the clinic will run until 6 p.m.

The clinic is open to all players from Little League through high school, and all coaches at any level are welcome.

Here are some of the other outstanding baseball people and topics that will be covered at this annual event:
• the 2006 high school baseball rules changes will be discussed by retired NCHSAA deputy executive director Dick Knox and assistant executive director Mark Dreibelbis
• “Strength, Conditioning and Nutrition in Today’s Athlete” will be discussed by Louisburg College assistant coach Jerry Edwards, East Carolina strength and conditioning coach John Grieco, North Carolina assistant coach Jason Howell, UNC-Wilmington strength and conditioning coach Jim Mayew, and Mount Olive assistant Rob Watt;
•”Practice Organization for the High School Coach” will include Memphis head coach Daron Schoenrock and U.S. Military Academy head coach Joe Sottolano;
• "Indoor and On-Field Drills To Become a Better High School Player” will be discussed by Vanderbilt assistant coach Erik Bakich, Appalachian State head coach Chris Pollard and Lenoir Community College head coach Stoney Wine;
• Pitching will be covered by Pitt Community College head coach Tommy Eason, North Carolina assistant coach Scott Forbes, East Carolina head coach Billy Godwin, Lander head coach Bill Jarman, and The Citadel head coach Fred Jordan;
•Catching will feature Methodist head coach Tom Austin; Travis Barbary, manager of the Columbus Dodgers of the South Atlantic League; N.C. State assistant coach Tony Guzzo, Campbell head coach Chip Smith, and Cleveland Indian player Clayton McCullough;
• Infield play instructors will be Virginia Tech head coach Chuck Hartman, Georgia Southern head coach Rodney Hennon; Randy Ingle, manager of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans; East Carolina assistant Link Jarrett, and UNC-Wilmington head coach Mark Scalf;
• Outfield play will be covered by Paul Faulk, East Coast crosschecker for the Atlanta Braves organization; Mount Olive head coach Carl Lancaster; James Molinari, director of Hurricanes Baseball, Inc.; Bobby Myrick, scout for the Atlanta Braves, and Wingate head coach Bill Nash;
• Hitting will be discussed New York Mets scout Howie Freiling, former Texas A&M coach Mark Johnson, Western Carolina head coach Todd Raleigh, former Cleveland Indians player Tommy Smith, and Atlanta Braves minor league hitting coordinator Franklin Stubbs.
• Baserunning will include Louisburg head coach Tommy Atkinson; former major league manager Dave Bristol, who managed the Reds, Brewers, Braves and Giants; Virginia Military Institute assistant coach Joe Hastings, U.S. Naval Academy head coach Paul Kostacopoulas, and U.S. Military Academy assistant coach Nick Schnabel.
