BLOCKED SHOT PERFORMANCE LISTED
A Northern Guilford High School women’s basketball player recently earned her way into the North Carolina High School Athletic Association record book.
Amanda Coffer of Northern Guilford recently was credited with 14 blocked shots in a game against Eden Morehead. Coffer had 18 points, 12 rebounds and 14 blocks in a 67-27 victory.
Coffer is one of two individuals (Sarah Lewis of East Forsyth did it twice in 1997) with 14 blocked shots in a women’s game. Padra Strong of Fayetteville Pine Forest holds the state record with 19 blocks.
Our thanks to coach Kim Furlough for documenting the record and providing the information.
