FORMER BREVARD
WOMEN'S STAR HONORED
BREVARD-- A former Brevard High School women's basketball star has been honored with the retirement of her jersey, the first women's basketball jersey ever retired at the school.
Former Brevard star Shonese Jones was honored between games of a recent doubleheader between Brevard and East Henderson. One of the top women's players in Brevard history, Jones is currently a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, where she leads the team in scoring.
According to the Hendersonville Times-News, Jones was recognized along with members of her family and former Brevard head coach Holly Krogman.
