COMMISSIONER WHITFIELD SPEAKS AT RANDOLPH SPORTS COUNCIL
ASHEBORO -- North Carolina High School Athletic Association commissioner Davis Whitfield was the keynote speaker on Monday night when he addressed the annual winter banquet of the Randolph Sports Council.
Whitfield addressed a number of topics and issues facing high school athletics today.
The Randolph Sports Council also honored sportsmanship winners from each of the seven high schools in Randolph County during the event at Snyder Farms Restaurant.
Sportsmanship winners included Asheboro’s John Thornburg and Jessica Tinnin, Eastern Randolph's Zach Gardner and Paige Smith, Jake Passmore and Paris Alston of Providence Grove, Hunter Spainhour and Mary Beth Pennell of Randleman, Southwestern Randolph's Carson Maness and Brooke Hayes, Cameron King and Katlyn Staub of Trinity, and Andrew Bazen and Hannah Ryan of Wheatmore.
