HUMPHRIES EARNS HONOR
D.J. Humphries of Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte was named the Anthony Muñoz Lineman of the Year by the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Committee, according to various media reports..
The 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive lineman helped Mallard Creek to a 13-1 record and to the semifinals in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 4AA football playoffs.
Humphries played in the U.S. Army All-America Game in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday.
The West defeated the East 24-12 in the all-star game.
