On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Amanda Sinclair of Red Springs produced the first recorded quadruple double in NCHSAA men’s or women’s basketball history. She had 14 points, 12 rebounds, 11 steals, 14 assists and while managing four blocks in a 77-55 loss to South Robeson.

On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Western Alamance and North Gaston combined for a whopping 98 points in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 3-A state championship football game as Western Alamance rolled past North 62-36. That was despite North Gaston rushing for an amazing 496 yards in the game at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill.
