On this day in history in the NCHSAA, senior Bailey Hunter earned her third consecutive championship Most Valuable Player award as she led Hendersonville to its third straight NCHSAA 1-A state volleyball championship. Hendersonville rolled past Louisburg in three straight by scores of 25-21, 25-17 and 25-16, to earn its ninth state crown in 11 visits to the final, which was played at Reynolds Coliseum. Hunter had a great all-around game with 20 kills, three blocks and 13 digs in leading the Lady Bearcats to their 27th victory in 30 starts.
