RAGSDALE ATHLETIC
DIRECTOR RESIGNS
JAMESTOWN — Ragsdale athletics director
Glen Locklear is resigning to become an assistant principal at Wilmington
Ashley, according to the Greensboro News and Record. His last day at Ragsdale
is Friday.
Brian Herndon, a longtime teacher at the
Jamestown school, will take over the duties of athletic director at Ragsdale.
Herndon served as Ragsdale's head football
coach in the early 1990s and has two sons on the football team.
Locklear has spent two stints at Ragsdale
totaling nine years, the last four as athletics director. He said he and his
wife had always thought of Wilmington as a place they'd like to move, and added
that the principal at Ashley is from his hometown.
